This DUO CPD session brings desktop publishing to life in a hands-on, creative digital design workshop! Using Google Slides and festive design challenges, teachers will discover how Year 3 pupils can master combining text and images to communicate eye-catching media. Teachers attending will learn how to guide students through selecting font styles, formatting layout elements, and using orientation and placeholders to design polished Christmas themed designs.
The session combines technical digital literacy with seasonal creativity, aligned directly with the National Curriculum and Teach Computing framework. Teachers will explore how to teach pupils to manipulate text boxes, adjust font sizes and colours, and align imported images with precision. It’s an ideal way to boost cloud-based ICT skills while delivering a fun, high-engagement project.
Final editing, layout design, and digital export will utilise Google Slides.
