Throughout the Spring and Summer terms our Curriculum Development Group has been working with us on documentation to support the new Computing curriculum.
The documents produced are intended as guidance and to give a framework to the new curriculum. They are not a one stop scheme of work as we know that all of our schools cover topics in slightly different ways.
These documents are available in the Curriculum 2014 section of this website.
We have delivered several Demystifying the New Curriculum CPD sessions in schools and at Openzone to support schools in their planning. We also have CPD sessions called Computing Unplugged which provides lots of ideas for delivering computational thinking and algorithms away from a computer.
Please see our CPD section for details of further training sessions available.
We are here to help!
The Curriculum Development group have made great strides in mapping the new computing curriculum to a school long term plan. The next meeting to be held at OpenZone CLC is Friday 13th June starting at 3pm. We hope to have plans available to help you teach computing in the Autumn Term very soon.
We have formed a New Curriculum Development Group. The idea of the group is to help our schools and support each other in the development of new ideas for delivering the curriculum and share good practice.
The target audience are Subject leaders in computing in South Tyneside schools.
The first meeting will be held at OpenZone on 13th February 2014 at 4pm
We look forward to seeing you there!
