We welcome Richard Smith to OpenZone who will be running a “Maths and the iPad” CPD day on Thursday 15th and Friday 16th May 2014 (for Primary Maths coordinators, ICT Coordinators and schools who have invested in Apple iPads.)

The day investigates the use of technology to enhance learning and teaching across the Primary Numeracy Curriculum in Key Stage 1 & 2. The objective is to highlight resources and equipment (both new and existing) which can impact individual lessons.

iPads will be provided for use during the session so that each delegate can try the apps and discuss.

Sharing ideas and Online Resources
Session in which delegates share practical ideas to ensure that learning is enhanced and extended. These will be added to an online document that can be used back in school for staff meetings. The session will highlight free resources and a roundup of online activity websites.
Coffee Break
Using an iPad as a Teaching Aid
Illustrate how an iPad can be used an interactive whiteboard resource, a visualiser and as a pupil response device. He will also demonstrate techniques for maximising the use of one iPad in the classroom.
